Got your wangthang on?

I learned a new word this week - wangthang.

This home study course I am participating in just keeps on cracking my shell to let that light shine on in.

It's a Tibetan word that means 'authentic presence' that translates into 'field of power'.

Normally that would suggest to me there is something I have to obtain in order to reach the field of power. Just the opposite here. Wangthang is about being empty and thus able to be fully present to the moment.

 I have been working on gaining more presence in the moment since I was 18 .....

What a delicious experience it is, being present to the moment without carrying the baggage of the past - mental stuff and emotional gyrations ....  yes, I have my moments and they are enriching indeed.

One of my favorites to bring this closer to the surface ....

"My eyes already touch the sunny hill.
going far ahead of the road I have begun.
So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;
it has inner light, even from a distance-

and charges us, even if we do not reach it,
into something else, which, hardly sensing it,
we already are; a gesture waves us on
answering our own wave...
but what we feel is the wind in our faces."

Rilke
Translated by Robert Bly

May your day be blissful and abundant.
