What is urban homesteading? Is this posibble in a city?

In Pasadena, California the Dervaes family are the ultimate urban homesteaders. On only 1/10 acre they harvest up to 6,000 lbs harvest annually, growing over 350 different vegetables, herbs, fruits & berries!

Jordanne Dervaes is interviewed here about the animals they keep in this suburban backyard: goats, chickens and ducks!

She speaks about the homesteading life, and the direct, daily symbiosis it puts you in with the plants and animals -- whether it's convenient or not.
