What is GMO Food?
GMOs, or “genetically modified organisms,” are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This experimental technology merges DNA from different species, creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding. Genetically modified foods (GM foods, or biotech foods) are foods derived from genetically modified crops, which aregenetically modified organisms (GMOs). GMOs have had specific changes introduced into their DNA by genetic engineeringtechniques. These techniques are much more precise[1] than mutagenesis (mutation breeding) where an organism is exposed to radiation or chemicals to create a non-specific but stable change. Other techniques by which humans modify food organisms include selective breeding; plant breeding, and animal breeding, and somaclonal variation.
A review of 19 studies confirms that consuming genetically modified (GM) food leads to significant organ disruptions. That means eating GM food will hurt you. Read the study - click here.
