There is more to social media than chatting and gossip, or so you think after reading the news this morning.
The report by SkillRoad Technology says that six out of 10 employees use social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin) at work to do work. The survey also found that the activity is consistent and similar across many different employers, whether or not they allow social media use at work.
What is being done or accomplished? Nearly half of those people are logging on to connect with coworkers, the second most popular reason (47 percent) was connecting with customers, and the third is simply connecting with others at 44 percent.
